“ILS FINISSENT DANS LES ASSIETTES”: COMMENT DES CHINOIS SE BATTENT CONTRE LES “DEALERS DE CHATS”

EDITORS NOTE: Graphic content / This picture taken on November 2, 2023 in Shanghai shows cat rescuer Han Jiali holding two pictures she took while chasing the cat meat trade black chain: the left photo is the cats’ frozen bodies in the refrigerator that she took in a small slaughterhouse located in Foshan, Guangdong on November 7, 2022; the right one is dead cats’ body submerged in water she took in a slaughterhouse located in Foshan, Guangdong on January 7, 2023. Most people in China do not eat cat meat, but an illegal market thriving in areas including Guangdong province and neighbouring Guangxi slaughters an estimated four million for food each year, according to Humane Society International.
